三星電子行動通訊部門總經理杜偉昱表示：「看好Android平台的發展性，三星為年輕族群推出GALAXY 580，搭載的是Android2.1介面，以及TouchWiz 3.0流暢操作介面，並搭配遠傳的優惠資費方案，讓使用者透過GALAXY 580創造生活、娛樂、工作最佳的整合行動經驗。」
